Philadelphia-based nonprofit

When a child enters foster care,
they should arrive with everything they need.

BridgeBag provides emergency care packages and a mobile resource store for children entering foster care and the resource families who welcome them. Clothing, hygiene, comfort. Delivered when it matters most.

The gap we close

Emergency packages

Standardized care packages — clothing, hygiene products, blankets, toys — ready to dispatch when a caseworker calls. No family left scrambling.

Mobile resource store

We bring the closet to the family. A mobile unit that appears at foster agency parking lots and community events so families can shop for exactly what they need.

Dignity, not charity

Every child deserves to feel valued from the moment they arrive. Our packages are curated, not cobbled together. Children deserve a duffel bag, not a trash bag.

How it works

01

A referral comes in

A caseworker, foster agency, or resource family submits a request — often same-day, sometimes same-hour. Every call is treated as urgent.

02

We assemble and deliver

A BridgeBag package is pulled — sized for the child, including clothing, hygiene, comfort items, and a note of welcome. Delivered to the family, typically within 24 hours.

03

Ongoing support via mobile store

Resource families visit our mobile store for ongoing needs — seasonal clothing, school supplies, and more. We come to them, removing transportation as a barrier.

"Children often enter foster care unexpectedly, sometimes in the middle of the night, with few or no personal belongings. We believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and ready to begin again."

One child. One family.
One act of kindness at a time.

BridgeBag exists because the gap between a placement call and a fully stocked home is real — and it falls on children who have already lost everything once. We close that gap with urgency, care, and respect.
